Osteopathy

What osteopathy is and from what age you can come

Ekaterina Gashenko · osteopath, P-DTR, kinesiologist

Modern medicine uses many high-tech diagnostic methods. Without diminishing the achievements of science, I will say it directly: the most precise instruments have always been the specialist's hands and attention.

Osteopathy is a method in which we listen to the body with our hands and influence it gently. We do not push on the symptom — we look for the place where the system lost its mobility and balance.

The body is one system. If your leg hurts, it does not mean we will work only with the leg. The restriction may sit in the thoracic region or in the abdominal organs — and by releasing the tension there we restore the whole chain. When the parts are adjusted, illness gives way to health.

I work with fascia, muscles, joints, ligaments and the membranes of the organs. No cracking and no forceful techniques: the input is gentle, so the body responds instead of defending itself.

From what age? Literally from birth. It is worth showing a newborn to an osteopath to help the body recover after passing through the birth canal and to release tension — which, by the way, tends to give the family calmer nights.

And it is never too late at any age. Chronic stories take longer to unpick, but in most cases it is possible.

Important: osteopathy does not cancel your doctor's prescriptions and does not replace medical examinations. I work alongside medicine and will recommend a relevant specialist when needed.
